Saltwater Cottage Booking Terms and Conditions

The cottage is hired on the basis that the accommodation is for holiday use only and that no rights to remain in the cottage exist in the holidaymaker or any person accompanying him/her on holiday.

A deposit of £100 per week per let shall be paid on booking and no accommodation may be reserved until Mr & Mrs Hall has issued a receipt for the deposit. Without prejudice to any greater liability on the part of the hirer, Mr & Mrs Hall shall apply that deposit in payment of any outstanding sums under the following heads:

(a)     Payment in respect of any breakages, damages or losses incurred at the premises

(b)     Any excess cleaning charges incurred by reason of the state of the property at the end of the let

(c)     Loss of any keys

(This liability is not limited to £100)

The deposit, or any balance thereof, shall be returned to the hirer within two weeks after the last day of the holiday booking.

Hirers of accommodation must appreciate that the acceptance of their deposit creates a contract between them and the owners of the property and that they become liable for all the charges from that moment.

All charges for the hire of holiday accommodation are due for payment in full (the deposit is non deductible) four weeks before the commencement of the hire period.

All hire periods are from Fri/Fri (or Sat/Sat from September onwards).  Hirers may take possession at 2pm of the day of commencement of the hire and should vacate by 10am on the final day.

The accommodation must be kept and left in a clean and tidy state and all furniture returned to the place in which it was found on entry.

Linen is not supplied with the accommodation, but duvets, pillows and bed covers are.  There will be an extra charge if arrangements are made for the caretaker to supply linen and payment for this should be made directly to her at the commencement of the holiday.

Hirers of accommodation must do nothing to make void any policy of insurance, must not cause a nuisance to neighbours and must allow the owner and/or his agent reasonable access.

This is a non-smoking cottage and pets are not allowed.

Mr & Mrs Hall do not accept any liability for any accident, damage, loss, injury or expense, whether to persons or property, which the tenants or any other persons may suffer or incur arising out of, or in any way connected with, the letting.

In the event of a cancellation, Mr & Mrs Hall will endeavour to re-let the property for the period concerned and, if such re-letting proves possible, shall at their discretion refund a proportion of the balance of money paid.   However, if the property is not re-let your liability will be for the whole rental amount.

Mr & Mrs Hall strongly recommend that you take out your own holiday insurance cover.
